Hedy E. Gray passed away June 9, 2017 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 92. Hedy was born May 11, 1925 in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of Adeline and Emil Kosch. Hedy was baptized, confirmed and married at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yakima and lived there all of her life until her husband died and she moved to Vancouver, WA to be near her son, Gary, and family.

Hedy married Dale Gray June 16, 1946 and together they raised two sons, Gary and Dennis. Hedy loved animals, especially small dogs and cats....

Hedy E. Gray passed away June 9, 2017 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 92. Hedy was born May 11, 1925 in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of Adeline and Emil Kosch. Hedy was baptized, confirmed and married at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yakima and lived there all of her life until her husband died and she moved to Vancouver, WA to be near her son, Gary, and family.

Hedy married Dale Gray June 16, 1946 and together they raised two sons, Gary and Dennis. Hedy loved animals, especially small dogs and cats. She and her husband loved to square dance and go camping with their sons, and with family and friends. As a teenager she worked at several different dress shops and, while her children were growing, at the Roche Fruit Warehouse. Her favorite employment, however, was at the library at Yakima Valley College. She enjoyed the interaction with the students and stayed for 17 years before retiring.

Hedy and Dale were married nearly 60 years before he passed away in March 2006. Hedy then moved to Vancouver and became a member at Peace Lutheran Church, Vancouver, WA.

Hedy was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her parents, and one sister. She is survived by her sons, Gary (Mary) Gray of Vancouver, WA and Dennis Gray of Mukilteo, WA, three grandchildren, Timothy (Lisa) Gray of West Salem, WI, Sarah (Jason) Gomulkiewicz, of Battle Ground, WA, and Joseph (Sarah) Gray of Woodland, WA, and nine great-grandchildren, Christiana, Micah, and Luke Gray, Hunter, Megan, and Henry Gomulkiewicz, and Curtis, Terryn, and Hollyn Gray, several cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends.

Viewing will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1207 S. 7th Ave., Yakima on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
Concluding services and burial will follow at Tahoma Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Vancouver, WA on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 3 pm.
