Rogelio Cantu, 80, of Tieton, passed away May 9, 2017 in Yakima, WA. He was born November 26, 1936 in Donna, Texas, to Elijio and Matilda Cantu.

Rogelio moved to Washington when he was 17. He met the love of his life, Dora, and they were married for 47 years before she passed away in 2009. He learned the orchard management business from the ground up and worked for Keller Fruit for over 40 years as an orchard manager. Rogelio was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cowiche. Rogelio Cantu, 80, of Tieton, passed away May 9, 2017 in Yakima, WA. He was born November 26, 1936 in Donna, Texas, to Elijio and Matilda Cantu.

Rogelio moved to Washington when he was 17. He met the love of his life, Dora, and they were married for 47 years before she passed away in 2009. He learned the orchard management business from the ground up and worked for Keller Fruit for over 40 years as an orchard manager. Rogelio was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cowiche. He loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Rogelio is survived by his children: Roger and Alex, Rudy and Brenda, Ray Cantu, Rosie Gallegos, and Beckie and JR White; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Rogelio is survived by his sisters and brothers: Maria Ponce, Elva Rodriguez, Juani Belleza, Olga Ybarra, Cande Salazar, Guadalupe Cantu and Gilbert (Sharon) Cantu.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers: Alfredo and Alvaro and his sister Josephina.

The family is grateful to the staff at Good Samaritan for their care of Dad these past 8 months.

Viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017; with Rosary at 6 pm at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 18th at Holy Family with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima.
